New Students
No experience, no flexibility, no special clothes required. Here's exactly what happens at your free first class at the Bend studio - what to bring, what the room is like, and the small etiquette things nobody tells you.
The walkthrough
Step 1
Pick any class on the schedule marked All Levels - Slow Vinyasa, Yin & Restorative, and Hatha Basics are the gentlest doors in. Reserve online or just walk in and leave your name at the desk. No card on file, no waiver ambush, no upsell. If you're not sure which class fits, call and tell us how your body feels this week - we'll point you to the right room.
Step 2
Sign in at the desk, leave your shoes on the rack by the door, and pick a spot anywhere in the room - there are no assigned mats and no 'regulars only' corners. Borrow whatever you need: mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps are all included, sanitized after every class. Tea is on in the lobby; the room itself stays quiet.
Step 3
This is the single most useful thing you can do. Mention you're new - and anything else that's useful: an old knee injury, pregnancy, a stiff morning back. Our teachers offer options for nearly every pose, all class long, and will quietly check in with you during practice. Modifying, resting in child's pose, or sitting a pose out is normal here, not a failure.
Step 4
The class ends in savasana - a few minutes of rest on your mat. Stay for tea afterward if you like; teachers linger and questions are welcome. Then decide in your own time whether Stillpoint is your studio. If it is, the first-timer offer is two weeks of unlimited classes for $39, and every membership after that is month-to-month with no contract.
Good to know
Anything you can move and breathe in - leggings, shorts, a t-shirt. Yoga is practiced barefoot, so no special shoes needed. For heated classes, lighter layers are kinder.
Just water. Mats, blocks, bolsters, blankets, and straps are all included, and small towels are at the desk. If you have your own mat, there's a shelf for it.
First class free, no card required. Then two weeks of unlimited classes for $39. After that: drop-in $24, 10-packs, or monthly unlimited $189 - all month-to-month, freeze anytime.
Flexibility is a result of yoga, not a prerequisite. Every pose in every All Levels class has a gentler option, and our teachers cue them out loud so you never have to ask.
Phones stay in the cubbies, voices drop at the studio door, and we skip strong scents in the room. Arrive early rather than late - the door locks once savasana music starts.
725 NW Colorado Ave in Bend - a quiet room on the west side, with parking on the street and behind the building. Sunrise classes start at 7:00 AM, evenings run to 6:30 PM.
